An exploration of some chicken shops on Uxbridge Road, West London, from 2014.

Chicken shops have become an intrinsic part of the urban British vernacular in London. These shops are as much a part of the city’s identity as any famous landmark. For years, chicken shops have symbolized defiance on high streets that are increasingly unrecognizable and homogenized.

This book delves into a small  part of this phenomenon by investigating the visual language and topography of shop fronts, as well as the significance of logos and typefaces used for identification.
